20 isn't a BAD NUMBER

Howdy? I know right. I'm back. I remember how I ended my last post... and uhh! It wasn't finished actually. Didn't get the chance to finish it maybe. I was occupied with a lot of school works and stuff plus, we don't have the unlimited access to the internet anymore so my internet addiction was also cut-off. At the moment, I'm here at my parents' house. It's still 10:16PM and guess what? They're already sleeping for like 2 hours ago! And I'm left here being so BORED!!! Thank God, there's a wireless internet kit that allowed me to surf the net and eventually made me decided to get back to the thing that I miss most! MY BLOGGER ACCOUNT! *yehbah!

So what did I do these past 3 weeks of Semestral break?

OCTOBER 11, 2011

Hell yeah! It was my 20th birthday! And I'm out of the "teen" years now! :(
I admit that I'd been planning the things that I'd like to do on my birthday but none of them cooperated with my plan. haha! Honestly, I was disappointed 'coz some of the important people whom I thought would remember my day didn't seem to remember it at all. A simple greeting could had been enough. lol. Drama!

Anyway, on October 10, 2011 - 9:00 AM - I wasn't already feeling well. That was a bad sign right? So I thought of sleeping early. I already had a long and bad day anyway. There's no point of getting excited for tomorrow. zzzzzzzZZZZZZ!

October 11, 2011 - 12:00 midnight -  I was surprised to be waken up by a call from my beloved twin friends Caryl and Clarice! They greeted me their warmest "Happy Birthday!". Waka even had tried to recall the notes of the Happy Bday song on her keyboard. OK, I'm not gonna tell you that she missed some notes. haha!

8:00 AM, I received greetings from my close friends including Frances, Gladys and Verwin. According to Verwin, he cancelled everything for today so he'll be free to join me on my so-called birthday celebration. And Gladys was on for what she called it "PARTEY-PARTEY" later. So I was like, OK. Game! :)

10:00 AM, I was taking a bath when dad called me and said I got a visitor. I rushed to get my towel, ran to the closet, chose the first cloth that struck my eyes... and hey, I did that for 1 minute! How's that?! Then at the living room, I saw Waka waiting with her gift held in her hands. "Waka! Tumakas lang ako para ibigay toh sa'yo! Happy Birthday!" Still in awe, I hugged and thanked her despite my really wet hair! haha

11:00 AM, I got a meeting with my Voice Fam and as always, I was late. When I went into the office, I was surprise that almost all of them greeted me! I never told them that it was my day...anyhow, they told me that they were already hungry. And since I'm the treasurer of the publication, I declared that we're going to have lunch! haha! We went to Chowking and I paid everything - of course, the money came from our funds - and I really assumed that the treat was from me. Pakapalan na ng mukha! haha

1:00 PM, We went back to the office to finish our errands. I prepared the budget proposals for our incoming events and releases. I ran from one office to another to ask for signatures. I got a little tired of course. But still, I have to go to the nearest salon to cut my hair off.

3:00 PM, By this time, I already have my new haircut. What's the next thing to do? Uhuh! Call the gang! I called Verwin a dozen times but he's not answering. I texted Angela to come but she said she's not in the mood. (uhuh?!) I texted Gladys to join me already but she's not yet ready. Alright. I was losing hope. haha! Who else to invite? Of course, not Regi because he forgot my birthday; not the twins because they're out of town and not Razille 'coz she can barely stride a step. I thought of Karlo... hmmn! But he didn't even greet me too! But I got no choice! I still want to have him on my birthday somehow. So I called him. He said he's still at school. He's gonna come but he has to change clothes first for he smells and looks like a mess. (OKKKEEEY!)

4:00 PM, They're still nowhere in sight. What do I do? Uhuh! Check my Facebook account and see how many people greeted me. The only available internet cafe in the mall was for P30 an hour. Too expensive for an hour of wasting my time eh? I got no choice again. I opened my Facebook and was shocked to see that 70+ people (and still counting) posted their birthday greetings on my wall. So sweet! <3
I saw Karen was online. I invited her to come. I actually forced her to come. She can't resist. So she rushed to the bathroom to take a shower. haha! I'm good at these things.

5:00 PM, Gladys arrived. The boys - just like what I expected - were still on their way. They're slower than me. They're more like a lady than me. hehe...Haizt! So I and Gladys strolled all over the place while waiting for the others. We stopped at this musical instruments shop and to my surprise, we saw Verwin carrying a box of cake on his hand! Uhuh! I didn't see that one coming. :)

6:00 PM, We're already complete. But the problem was, we can't decide where to eat. Will we go pizza or go to a resto bar instead? I let them decide and it's only Karlo who got the frankest suggestion of spending the night in a resto bar. So we went there and took our orders. We dine inside a small KTV room. Imagine that? But before we ate, Karlo prayed and I blew my first-ever birthday candle. YEHEY!haha! (I know I'm pathetic). BUT THANKS TO VERWIN. ^_^

Then as we ate, Gladys handed me a white thick baller labeled with the word "WASTED". OMG! She's the sweetest and not-so-insulting friend ever!!! haha!

We ate and sang and ate and sang for 4 hours! We started singing the latest songs to the korny to the baduy ones. We even had videos but I don't like them to be posted here. haha! We threw icing and ice water to each other. We had been afraid of the wet microphone that electrified us whenever we touch it in the wrong spot.

11:00 PM, UH-OH! Looks like I have angry grannies waiting for me at home. haha! We decided to leave the place and rode on a tricycle. We still laughed on our way home. Karlo really had this difficulty in keeping his mouth shut...especially at that time where he's, well... _______.

After Karen and Gladys were accompanied home, I made it sure that Karlo and Verwin will be seen by my grannies before they left so they won't suspect me of spending the night with somebody else. I'm clever I know. I saw mom's majoomboo look. But I ignored it. hehe! And so was daddy's angry bird expression. I received sermons that night. But you know what? Because of the overwhelming happiness I had on that day, I didn't have the energy to listen to the negative things anymore. I was just soooo haaappppy!

I wish I could share them all here. As I remember all the things that happened that night, I still laugh about it. I'm now 20! And guess what? I still act like a kid sometimes. hehe... Well, that's life.

Memories. Memories. Memories.

I was completely bored one time then I decided to open my Friendster account again. I hadn't opened it for awhile. Well, not surprising. I looked at my inbox and I saw  25 spam messages. I deleted them all. It's a waste of time if I'm going to open it even if I already know what's in it. Then, I went to see my profile. For a year, my profile page didn't change as well as the background music. "Hot & Cold" is the song I guess?

Anyway, after seeing how my profile's crappy look, I finally opened my stuck photos. It was fun looking at my own pics taken 3-4 years ago and realizing that somehow, I did change. Looking back, it was so cool. It made me wish to turn back time and live with the happy moments that those pictures say. So here, look what I found...

MY FIRST EVER TROPHY

Well, this would probably my first and my only National Award in my life (but I hope not). I got this trophy when I won the National Schools Press Conference in a News Writing-English category when I was in 3rd year HS. I'm not boasting once and for all but  when I heard that my name was called for the 3rd place, I didn't know what just I did at that moment. I ran as quick as possible leaving my teachers behind to go on the stage never minding what the hundreds of people on that gymnasium would say about me. So what? I won! You understand?! I won! I don't care if I look really desperate and stupid that time. All I want is to hold my trophy. haha....

So that's it. After I got it, a reporter blocked my way to ask me along with her cameraman. And I was like, "Oh my! My sweat is all-over my face! All the people in GenSan will see me". But I still went on answering the questions though. That was the best day. All I know is I never imagined winning. I only enjoyed writing my article. Maybe that's the LESSON there. Enjoy everything you love doing. And you work will be appreciated.

My best romantic movies of all time

I know that romantic movies for some are lame and a waste of time. but for other who are romantic-at-heart, hopeless romantic and dreamers of a happily-ever-after love story, romantic movies are the portals for expressing what we are. Yes, we are. I won't deny that I'm one of the die-hard fans of romantic movies.

I've been watching romantic movies for years. And for those who call them sick, I'ma tell you to shut up! haha... The logic is, why would you watch it if you knew you hate it, right? So, since I don't have pictures yet of the topic that i was supposed to post tonight, I thought of sharing my favorite romantic movies at the same time give reviews on them. So I hope, you'll agree with me. lol.

Notting Hill (Julia Roberts & Hugh Grant)

William Thacker: 'I enjoyed the movie very much. I was just wondering, did you ever consider having more horses in   it?'
Anna Scott: 'Well, we would have liked to. But it was difficult, obviously, being set in outer space.'”

This movie is the most memorable movie that I've watched when I was a kid. At the age of 10, I already felt "kilig" of the scenes and most especially of the song. I like it because it doesn't show PG scenes. So it can be watched by children. The concept was really good and it also had comedic scenes so it's not a boring one too.

This movie made me realize that an ordinary person can be loved by a famous on who never even saw it coming. Until now, whenever I see this movie flicks on a cable channel, I'd rather feel like watching it AGAIN than studying for an exam for the afternoon.

Notting Hill boosted the hopes of avid fans out there. The hope that someday, their wish of being with their favorite star might come true out of the blue.

50 First Dates (Drew Barrymore & Adam Sandler)
Lucy: [to Henry] Can I have one last first kiss?

What if you'll fall in love with a person who would forget your name every 24 hours? Would you be too persevere to introduce who you are and start all over again every single day?

That's the main point of the story. Lucy (Drew Barrymore) got into an accident a year before Henry (Adam Sandler) met her. She might have survived but her memory didn't. The only things she can remember were the activities she did on the day she got into an accident. Everyday, she thinks that it's her father's birthday, that she paints a wall so she she do it, wash the plates and go to a restaurant for a breakfast. That seemed to be her daily routine. All the new things and people she encounter before her stock memory will be completely forgotten the next day, even her boyfriend.

It is kind'a surprising to think that 1 out of a thousand people (i guess) would have such kind of dilemma. But Henry didn't give up. At first, he was confused on why he was stabbed by Lucy the second day they met. But then again, when he found out that Lucy has an illness, he continued on getting to know her. Even if it takes him to introduce himself every 24 hours. He was a player before, but Lucy seemed to be the girl who had made him forget about playing around.

The story ended happily though. And Henry eventually found a way to make Lucy remember everything right after she woke up.  It's called 50 first dates because since Lucy can't remember anything, she always thought that it's her and Henry's first date every time they go out.

OMG! I feel like watching this movie again!

*Titanic (Kate Winslet & Leonardo DiCaprio)

Leonardo DiCaprio
(Jack): I'm the king of the world!

Believe it or not, I've only had the chance to watch Titanic 13 years after it was released on cinemas. haha! Damn horrible right? That's why, whenever my friends talk about this movie before, all I can do is to listen and do all my best to show interest on to their talk. All I thought was, the hell I care about Jack and Rose?! However, I admit I still wanna watch it.

So finally, 3 months ago, I decided to watch over the internet. When the movie played, I told myself, "so this is the movie they're all crazy about before". While watching the movie, I found myself being so in to it. Like I was one of the characters. Jack and Rose's story was indeed heart whelming; full of passion and love. They  justify the word, FATE.

"Love can touch us one time, and last for a lifetime", as it's theme song goes. That's what Jack and Rose showed. In the movie, you can greatly see the division between elites and poor. What I like about this whole Titanic thing is that, it's not just all about cruising and being being in love. But it also tells about the different scenarios in the world represented by the events inside the Titanic ship. It's also a tear-jerking movie! Trust me! Watching it made me fear the ocean more. haha! The ship's ending was a tragedy. And Jack and Rose's lovestory was just really inspiring and also had a really sad finale. That's what they say how a true love should be. Sacrificing.

A Walk To Remember ( Mandy Moore & Shane West)

Jamie: You have to promise you won't fall in love with me.
Landon: That's not a problem.

Who would expect that a bad boy like Landon would fall in love with a Pastor's kid Jamie?

Alright, this might be a typical bad-boy-meets-good-girl movie but its edge is, it showed that not all perfect relationships would last forever being together.

Jamie is sick. And her days were already numbered even before she went out with Landon. Being a Pastor's kid with no mother is surely the reason why she was aloof and still single. She never had a boyfriend since birth (oh well! we're alike. haha).

Landon on the other hand was not really the criminal type of bad boy. He has just no direction. He's arrogant. When he met Jamie, at first, he was completely irritated about her. She's not the type of girl he wished to be with.

To make the story short, the two got married even if Landon already discovered Jamie's condition. They never had the chance to spend a longer time being together as husband and wife 'coz Jamie died. Landon loved her a lot. But he did let her go. Jamie had not just been his true love but she's also the girl who completely changed his prospectives in life.

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (Kate Hudson & Matthew McConaughey)

Andie: [Crying at restaurant after waitress asks if everything is okay] My boyfriend thinks I'm fat!
[
Flicks food at himAndie: And I can't eat in front of him! I can't eat in front of you! I have to go to the bathroom. Ben: [Receives dirty looks from other customers]
Honey, I don't think you're fat! I don't think she's fat!

Watching this movie would make you laugh to death and fall in love at the same time. This movie made me like Matthew and Kate as celebrities. They also look awesome together. By just reading the quote above, I know you would smile or laugh. Can you imagine two people who were just been going out because each of them has tasks to accomplish? And to add to it, they didn't know that they're fooling each other. And that they are fooling themselves. Andie (Kate) just went out with Ben (Matt) in order to have something to write on her article "How to Lose a Guy in 10 days". She has to annoy him for him to decide to break up with her. But in contrast, Ben had a modus too. He went out with Andie to prove that women are crazy about him. And to get an idea on what would be the perfect tagline for his company's Swarovsky  Diamond launch. Ironic isn't it?

However, both of them fell on the trap they made for each other. They fell in love.

I recommend you to watch this movie if you still didn't see it. It's awesome, I tell you. It's one of the best movies who would ease your stress and tickle your heart.

So that sounds it. I still have a row of movies in mind but I guess it would take me a day to finish it. lol...
What about you? Care to share your favorite romantic movies? :)
